Daily Journey (“the app,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a daily
geography guessing game developed by Pouyan Meishany. This Privacy Policy explains what information we
collect, how we use it, and the choices and rights you have. By using Daily Journey, you agree to this policy.
The short version: We collect only what we need to run the game and your account. We do
not sell your data, we do not show ads, we do not use
advertising identifiers or third-party analytics, we do not collect your GPS location, and we
do not track you across other apps or websites.
1. Information we collect
Account information. When you create an account or sign in, we collect your email address
and a display name or username. If you use Sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your email and name from
that provider. (With Sign in with Apple you may choose to hide your email, in which case we receive a private
relay address instead.) We also store an account identifier.
Optional profile information. You may add a country to your profile. This is self-selected
and used for country leaderboards. It is not your GPS or device location.
Gameplay data. Your guesses, scores, streaks, achievements, statistics, game history, and
your friend connections and invitations. This is how the game keeps score and powers leaderboards and stats.
Notifications token. If you enable notifications, your device provides a push token so we
can send daily reminders and game updates. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings.
Technical information. Basic information needed to operate the service, such as app version,
device type, and language, along with standard server logs (which can include your IP address) generated when
your device communicates with our servers.
2. How we use your information
Provide and operate the game — daily destinations, scoring, streaks, and reveals.
Create and maintain your account and keep you signed in.
Show leaderboards, friends, and multiplayer features.
Send notifications you have chosen to enable.
Keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and fix problems.
Comply with our legal obligations.
3. What other players can see
Your display name or username, and your country if you set one, are visible to other players on leaderboards,
in friends lists, and in multiplayer matches. Please don’t use a display name you wouldn’t want
others to see. Your email address is never shown to other players.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in these limited cases:
Service providers who help us operate the app, under agreements that limit how they may use
it:
Microsoft Azure — cloud hosting and storage (data hosted in the EU / Northern Europe).
Apple and Google — only if you choose their sign-in, to authenticate you.
Apple Push Notification service — to deliver notifications you have enabled.
Legal reasons — if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of
our users, the public, or Daily Journey.
5. Data retention
We keep your account and gameplay data for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, we
delete or anonymize your personal data, except where we must retain certain records to comply with legal
obligations or resolve disputes.
6. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live — for example, under the EU/EEA General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or
the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) — you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export
your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, or to
delete your account and associated data, contact us at
pouyan.meishany@gmail.com (or use the in-app account deletion
option where available). You can turn off notifications at any time in your device settings.
7. Children’s privacy
Daily Journey is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from
children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we
will delete it.
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and
secure storage of credentials on your device. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we
work hard to protect your data.
9. International data transfers
We are based in Sweden and use servers located in the EU. If you use the app from outside these regions, your
information may be processed in countries whose data-protection laws differ from your own. Where required, we
take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above,
and for significant changes we will provide notice within the app.
